Side note - 🤔[[virtuality]] is something I'd first seen in [[@Kirkman.Mathieu2005]] and found somewhat limiting - it just looks at how well tech mirrors the real world, which sort of assumes that tech can at __best__ make it like you are there with others. I want to see if he takes the same direction in his critique. #limitation

More recent work acknowledges that even face-to-face teams have some aspects of [[virtuality]] - although the definition varies somewhat (there is a lot in common with these definitions):

So [[virtuality]] is a continuum of how teams use tech communication tools for their interaction. Work in this area tends to focus on how virtuality impacts effectiveness.
